Thomas Hampson, one of the foremost Mahler experts and interpreters, will be supporting the GUSTAV MAHLER JUGENDORCHESTER. The exceptional American baritone will be singing songs from the Period of “Des Knaben Wunderhorn” and will be performing together with Burkhard Fritz in the “Lied von der Erde”. Thomas Hampson has been on tour with the GUSTAV MAHLER JUGENDORCHESTER in 1995 (with Bernard Haitink) and 207 (with Philippe Jordan).

Burkhard Fritz will be singing the tenor Part in Mahler’s “Lied von der Erde“. He is a member of the Berliner Staatsoper ensemble and performs on all the major stages of Europe. This is the first time Burkhard Fritz is touring with the GUSTAV MAHLER JUGENDORCHESTER.
